SAG Awards 2011 Winners

With already receiving 12 Oscar nominations, "The King's Speech" topped this year's screen actors guild awards (SAG awards) which was held last night. And not just that, "The King's Speech" lead actor Colin Firth also won the best actor at the 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

"Until today, I would say probably, if ever I felt that I had a trophy which has told me that something's really happening for me, it was my SAG card. Growing up in England, it's not something you expect to see in your wallet, really. And so it has this glow, and I used to flash it around, hoping it would get me female attention, entry into nightclubs and top-level government departments. It didn't." — Colin Firth, while accepting SAG awards.

Natalie Portman, who has also received an Oscar nomination for her "Black Swan" bagged the best actress for the film. While the best male and female actors in supporting role went to "The Fighter". On the Television side, Broadwalk Empire and Modern Family won the annual screen actors guild awards for best drama and comic series. Ernest Borgnine won the lifetime achievement award.
