Platinum Jubilee of Indian talkies
Bangalore, Dec 5 (UNI) The Karnataka films of Commerce in collaboration with Alliance Francaise de Bangalore, Suchitra Film Society, Max Muller Bhavan, National Film Archives and the Department of Information will be holding a week-long celebration to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Indian Talkies under the title '75 years of sound', in the city from December eight.
The National Film Archives had put together an exhibition for the occasion. An audio visual presentation, attended by vintage music directors and famous musicologists of Indian talkies, would also be held.

be
held
at
Elgin
Talkies
built
in
1896,
the
year
Lumiere
Brothers
invented
Cinema.
India's
first
sound
film
'Alam
Ara'
was
screened
here
in
1931,
a
release
issued
by
Alliance
Francaise
said
today.
