Born in Guntur District, he studied intermediate in Hindu College and later did his degree from Loyola College in the then Madras.

In 1949, he wrote his first play 'Antarvani' and soon made his mark as writer in the film industry with his debut in 'Pedda Manushulu.' He wrote scripts for super hit movies featuring both Akkineni Nagaswara Rao and N T Rama Rao like 'Donga Ramudu, Raja Makutam and Ramudu Bhimudu.' In 1964, he wrote story and dialogues for D Rama Naidu's 'Ramudu Bhimudu' featuring N T Rama Rao in a dual role for the first time.

The film was later remade as 'Enga Veettu Pillai' featuring M G Ramachandran in Tamil and 'Ram Aur Sham' in Hindi with Dilip Kumar in the lead.All the three versions were smashing hits.

The films for which Narasaraju worked include Vijaya's 'Gundamma Kadha' (1962), AVM's 'Bhakta Prahlada' (1967), Rangula Ratnam, 'Manasu Mamata and Karu Diddina Kapuram.' He directed last two films of the Usha Kiran Movies. He also acted in the film 'Chevilo Puvvu.' He inherited the wit of Chakrapani and passed on his satire to Aatreya.

'Pedda Manashulu,' a satire on village politics, is one of his best works.
