Maintaining Saree With Zari, Heavy Work And Embroidery

Zari Saree contain the weaves of silver and gold. The metal, specially the silver weaves react to the atmospheric air and look dull and old. To maintain and preserve the shine of the zari sarees, the best thing to do is wrap them in muslin or soft cotton dhoti. This prevents it from reaction and maintenance is easy. There are many more ideas listed below to preserve and maintain sarees.
Maintaining Sarees With Zari And Heavy Work
1. To avoid the work or zari getting pulled by your jewellery, stitch a net behind it so the knots and weaves don't loosen up.
2. Always maintain the washed and unwashed zari sarees separately. Never wrap the used sarees immediately after change, spread them for a few hours so that the sweat dries and then hang them in hangers for furthur use. Do not forget to keep the moth repellents in the place.
3. Dry cleaning is best for zari sarees but if you plan to wash them, wash in a mild soap water, rinse well and dry it in shade immediately.
4. For the fine cosmetic or food stains, use a soft brissled toothbrush on the sequines and beads to get rid of them.
5. Wiping the embroidery or sequines with a damp cloth and drying them under fan will maintain the new look forever.
6. Never wrap the heavy zari blouse with the sarees, always keep them separately on hangers. Every once in a week you can hang dry them in sun to keep clean (away from fungus) for long.
