Hair brush or combs gets dirty in days and keeping them clean is really difficult. A clean brush helps set the hair and keep them clean and hygienic. Dirt filled hairbrush can cause dandruff or itchy scalp. Hair brushes filled with strands of broken hair also gets stuck while combing therefore leading to more hair fall. For proper hair care, clean the hair brush or comb whenever you find it dirty. A hair brush sets the hair style easily and it is very important to keep the hair brushes and combs clean for a clean hair and scalp. Lets take a look at the simple tips to clean and maintain hair brushes.

How to clean hair brush?

1. Before washing the hair brush or comb, remove all the hair strands which have tangled in it. Use your fingers or a toothpick to remove the hair from the bristles.

2. Wet the brush with warm or cold water depending on the material.

3. In a bowl mix warm water and shampoo. This cleansing solution is an effective tip to clean hair brush. Soak the brush in this solution for 4-5 minutes.

4. Use the pointed end of another comb to remove the tangled hair from the bristles.

5. Now, use a toothbrush to scrub the dirt from the bristles. Scrub in horizontal directions to clean the bristles properly. Scrub on both the sides of the brush.

6. Cleaning comb can be difficult due to its round structure. It is best to use a wide toothed brush to clean the comb. Put some cleansing solution and scrub with the help of a brush.

7. Don't exert more pressure while cleaning to avoid breaking the bristles. After washing the brush or comb, rinse it with water and see that no remains of shampoo is left between the bristles. Wipe the brush in a towel and let it dry.

8. To keep the hair brush clean, it is best to wash them everyday before going to sleep. Soak it in water for 3-4 minutes and use a shampoo water cleansing solution to clean the hairbrush.

9. Use a toothbrush to clean the bristles and wipe it in a towel after rinsing it. Let it dry.

10. Soaking the brush in warm water and shampoo solution helps clean them without much effort.
