7 Types Of People Who Get Urinary Tract Infections Often!
If you are someone who has been affected with urinary tract infections before, you would be familiar with the unbearable pain and burning sensation it causes in your private parts! Did you know that UTI can be caused more often in certain types of people?
Urinary tract infection is a condition in which the urinary tract, the bladder, the kidneys or the urethra are infected by bacterial colonies, causing a lot of inflammation, pain and a burning sensation.
Some of the common symptoms of UTI include pain in the private parts, pain while urinating and pain during sexual intercourse, foul-smelling urine, frequent urination, vaginal irritation, etc.
In some extreme cases, symptoms of UTI can also include blood in the urine, pelvic pain, stomach pain, nausea, fever, etc.
Urinary tract infections are more common in women; however, men can be affected by them too.
Causes for UTI can be due to a number of reasons that can lead to bacterial infections.
Have a look at the type of people who are more prone to urinary tract infections, in this article.

1. People Who Are Very Sexually Active
One of the most common causes for UTI is sexual intercourse, so frequent intercourse can lead to frequent UTI. It is important to maintain hygiene before and after the act.

2. Men Who Are Over 50 Years
Causes for UTI can also be due to the enlargement of the prostate gland in men after the age of 50, which can make urinating slightly difficult, as the urethra has lesser space.

3. Post-Menopausal Women
A research study has claimed that women who have gone through menopause can have frequent UTIs, as the oestrogen levels in their body reduce, which is another reason for UTI.

4. Uncircumcised Babies
Another cause of UTI can be due to the dirt and sweat that gets accumulated in the foreskin of an uncircumcised baby boy's penis, which can lead to the development of bacterial colonies.

5. Senior Citizens
A reason for UTI can also be due to the weakened bladder and kidney functions in the elderly, making them more prone to frequent infections.

6. Diabetes Patients
One of the main causes for UTI can be diabetes because in diabetic patients, the bladder contraction capacity gets weakened, making urination difficult.

7. People With Busy Jobs
If you have a busy job that does not allow time for frequent restroom breaks, chances are that you hold your urine for a long time, leading to UTI, which is also a cause for UTI.
