7 Remedies To Treat Chafing In Summer
What's chafing? Well, when your clothes rub against your sensitive skin, that too repeatedly, your skin tends to get irritated and red. And of course, chafing is painful too.

In summers, this problem will get worse as you tend to sweat more. When you have excess body fat, the problem gets aggravated as the friction would be more.
Your thighs are the most obvious places where chafing could occur. Other places include neck, groin, underarms and even nipples.
If your skin is sensitive or if you are overweight, you are more vulnerable to chafing. What are its symptoms? Rashes, burning sensation, irritation, and pain are some of its symptoms.
First, identify the actual cause. Is it your clothes or excessive sweat or what? If it is your exercise movements, you can change your moves. If you're wearing tight clothes, you can switch to loose clothes. Also, eating foods rich in beta carotene, zinc and vitamin C could help.

When chafing gets worse, it might lead to skin infections too. In order to treat it, here are some home remedies.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil can treat many types of skin irritations due its antimicrobial nature. Take a piece of cotton, dip it in diluted tea tree oil (water+tea tree oil) and gently rub it against the affected area. Never use this oil without diluting as it may irritate your skin more.

Turmeric
Turmeric contains both anti-inflammatory properties and antibacterial properties. Add a few drops in a spoon of turmeric paste and apply it on the affected area. Ensure that you wash it after 25 minutes.

Baking Soda
Even baking soda contains healing properties and can work well for chafed skin. Add a pinch of baking soda to 3 spoons of water. Gently, use the mixture to cover the affected area and wash after 5minuets.

Olive Oil
You can massage the affected area with olive oil. It heals your skin with its nutrients. You can do it before going to bed.

Oat Meal
Even oat meal heals skin. You can simply add a bowl of oatmeal to your bath water and soak yourself in it for a while and then wash your body.

Aloe Vera Gel
Applying aloe vera gel on the affected area twice a day can be of good help. We all know that aloe vera contains many medicinal properties.

Ice Cubes
Take a few ice cubes, wrap them in a cloth and apply them on the areas where your skin is irritated. Just do it for 5 minutes and repeat after 30 minutes.
