The Dukan Diet, by Dr. Pierre Dukan has gained popularity in it's land of origin, in France and also in several other countries. Next month the Dukan diet will be official launched in America. The diet, which had been introduced in 2000, is till now one of the most popular diet plan in France and Dr. Pierre Dukan hopes it to be a great hit in America

Till now the diet has sold over 3.5 million copies in 14 languages. New York Times has reported that Dr. Dukan has sold the North American rights for a $1.3 million advance. The Dukan Diet America edition will be rolled out by the Crown publishing. The cover of the book reads, “The Real Reason the French Stay Thin."

This diet preaches the protein diet and promises a quick healthy weight loss. The diet is divided into four phases. While the first two phase is a strict diet plan, the next two are relaxing phase.
