Ayurvedic Herbs For Kapha Dosha Balance
Kapha is responsible for governing and regulating the structure and lubrication of the body and mind. It’s excess can cause one to suffer with problems like lethargy, over-weight, sinus, diabetes etc.
In Ayurveda, overall health of a person depends on the balance of three doshas, which are Vaat, Pitta and Kapha. Out of these three Kapha is responsible for governing and regulating the structure and lubrication of the body and mind.
It's excess can cause one to suffer with problems like lethargy, being overweight, sinus, fluid retention, diabetes etc.
However, this Kapha dosha can be balanced with the help of herbs that have both aromatic and healing properties. Following is a list of 10 such Ayurvedic herbs that help balance out Kapha dosha in the body, have a look.

1. Ginger:
Ginger is extremely helpful in pacification of Kapha dosha, when used in a dried powdered form, especially to treat cold, cough and indigestion. Adding a pinch of it to warm milk provides relief to a number of problems.

2. Turmeric:
Turmeric is a spice which is very well known for its medicinal properties. It is greatly effective for treating allergies, asthma, diabetes, skin problems, etc. It is also very helpful in curing cold and cough.

3. Black Pepper:
Black pepper is extremely potent in balancing of Kapha dosha. As it is hot in nature with anti-helmintic properties, it is useful in treating a number of health-related issues. It helps in getting rid of worms, indigestion, respiratory problems, etc. However, because of being extremely hot, it needs to be taken in controlled quantities.

4. Guggul:
Grown basically in north-western parts of India, Guggul is great for getting rid of excessive Kapha from the body. It has anti-inflammatory properties and is also very helpful in enhancing the metabolism, thus helping out in dealing with obesity. It also helps with congestion, arthritis, keeping the cholesterol levels in check, etc.

5. Amla:
Amla, or Indian Gooseberry, is extremely well known for rejuvenation in Ayurveda. It has forever been used to cure indigestion, skin problems, lung infections, respiratory problems, obesity, etc. It is extremely rich in vitamin C and thus is a great antioxidant. It is also very beneficial in enhancing the immunity of the body.

6. Bhibhitaki:
Bhibhitaki, Amalki and Haritaki are together mixed to form a greatly benefitting powder ‘Triphala', which is used for cleansing and detoxification of the body. Bhibhitaki has both astringent as well as laxative properties. It is very helpful in treating lung conditions like asthma and bronchitis and for balancing the Kapha dosha.

7. Haritaki:
Found extensively in northern India, Haritaki has numerous properties to provide relief from flatulence, ulcers, diarrhoea, vomiting, piles, etc.

8. Ajmoda:
Known as India celery, this aromatic herb has anti-spasmodic properties. It also provides relief from indigestion and other abdominal problems. It is also helpful in problems of the respiratory tract as well as arthritis.

9. Cloves:
Clove even though used more often as a spice in India cuisine helps in curing respiratory infections, digestive issues and also has pain-relieving properties. This makes cloves or Lavanga a great Kapha-balancing herb.

10. Cinnamon:
Found abundantly in the south-western region of India, cinnamon has antibacterial and antifungal properties; and when chewed, it helps in providing relief from indigestion, cold, cough, dental problems, etc.
