Almost all people wake up with tea. Here is a sad news for tea lovers, as your favourite drink, increases the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.

This is a new study, after testing more than 76,000 women who consumed tea had developed more risk in this ailments while those who drink coffee have no risks of that sorts.

Researches have discovered that tea lovers who take four cups and more, have higher chances of developing rheumatoid arthritis increasing to 78 percent than those who don't take. Further says, people drinking tea will rise the risk of the ailment by 40 percent than people who never drink tea.

Professor Christopher Collins, from the Georgetown University Medical Centre in the US, said he was surprised by the study.

"We set out to determine whether tea or coffee consumption, or the method of preparation of the drinks was associated with an increased risk of (rheumatoid arthritis]," the Scotsman quoted him as saying.

"It is surprising that we saw such differences in results between tea and coffee drinkers. This does make us wonder what it is in tea, or in the method of preparation of tea, that causes the significant increase in risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis," he added.

This finding was presented at the Annual Congress of the European League Against Rheumatism in Rome.
