3 Secrets From Ancient India That Help Us Lose Weight & Stay Fit!
Take a trip back into history and get some fitness tips from our ancestors!
In this day and age, looking fit and being in great shape has a lot of importance, right? The minute you step out, you see a number of gyms and fitness centers that are filled with fitness enthusiast!
Now, many of us may think that fitness is a trend that has emerged recently and the fad for gaining muscles and a 6-pack or having a tiny waist and a toned body is a recent thing, right?
What we may not realise is that the desire for fitness has been around even since the times of our ancestors, in ancient India.

Yes, if you closely observe the old pictures of your grandparents or great grandparents and the people of their times, you may notice that, a lot of them were fit and slim and obesity was a problem which hardly existed back then!
Back then, the method our ancestors used to stay fit and healthy were a lot more effective and safe, and their results lasted for a longer time, is what many studies opine.
For instance, when people go to the modern-day gym for their workouts, they may see a bit of muscle gain; however, even if they miss a week of working out, they may lose muscle mass or gain weight!
This is because even if you workout intensively at the gym, there could be a few other lifestyle habits that you may fail to follow!
Now, have a look at some of the secret tips that our ancestors in India used to follow in order to remain fit and healthy.

1.
Daily
Activities
Back
in
the
olden
days,
people
had
to
work
a
lot
and
most
things
in
life
involved
manual
labour,
which
used
muscle
strength
and
energy.
For
example,
people
had
to
build
their
own
houses,
do
their
own
gardening,
chop
wood,
cook,
etc.
Even
moving
around
from
place
to
place
was
mostly
by
foot
or
on
bicycles,
before
the
invention
of
modern-day
vehicles.
They
also
had
to
work
on
strenuous
jobs
for
a
living
such
as
farming,
unlike
today's
desk-bound
jobs.
So, the above activities in the daily lives required a lot of energy and a lot of calories were being burnt naturally, thus keeping them slim and fit. So, you too can involve yourself in household chores and hobbies that burn calories naturally.

2.
Yoga
Back
in
the
day,
most
people
were
known
to
practice
yoga
and
more
than
a
form
of
exercise,
it
was
considered
to
be
a
form
of
spiritual
activity,
so
it
was
given
immense
importance
and
was
practiced
by
even
young
kids,
on
a
daily
basis.
As we know, yoga is one of the best forms of exercise, which can improve your physical fitness, health and also your mental health!
So, practicing yoga on a regular basis can definitely keep you fit, toned and stress-free, just like our ancestors!

3.
Wholesome
Meals
As
we
may
already
know,
a
few
decades
ago,
especially
in
India,
the
concept
of
fast
foods
and
eating
out
never
existed,
because
there
were
hardly
any
restaurants
around
and
western
fast
foods
were
not
even
introduced!
So,
our
ancestors
consumed
healthy,
wholesome
foods,
which
did
not
include
unhealthy
fats
and
preservatives.
So, staying away from fast foods and processed foods and sticking to healthy, balanced meals can also help you stay fit!
