Winter Fruits To Stay Healthy
Winter in India sets in by November through most parts of the country and stays till the end of February and some part of March. India is a diverse country with tropics to deserts and snow filled regions packed in one. Different regions produce different fruits in the winter and fresh harvest of these fruits for the season offer wide variety of choices to stay healthy. Northern regions produce fruits such as apple and southern states are popular for mangoes and papaya.
Apple is one fruit is widely harvested particularly in winter and prices come down to affordable range during this season. It is a wonder fruit that is highly nutritious and healthy. All states in particular grow some form of citrus fruits such as orange, sweet lime etc. Consuming citrus fruits during winter has its benefits as it is rich in vitamin C which is an anti-oxidant that can reduce cold symptoms.
With today's agricultural technology, farmers are able to grow and store verities of fruits and make them available for all seasons. The only advantage of seasonal fruits is its price. Seasonal fruits, when harvested during their particular season, cost less due to availability in large quantities during their harvesting season. This helps in reaching more people during their season and affordable to larger population.

Apple
Apple get affordable to the masses during winters and its rich nutritional benefits can be enjoyed during this season. It is highly healthy and provide lots of fiber and antioxidants that keep you healthy and fight common cold and fevers that spread during winter seasons.

Orange
Orange and other citrus fruits are harvested during the winter and available in bulk during this season. Due to its affordability during winter one can consume them in various forms like juices and salads to stay healthy. Citrus rich fruits are rich in antioxidants and build immunity to common cold.

Pomegranates
This is yet another expensive fruit that gets lot cheaper during the arrival of winters in India. It is delicious and low in calories. It is a rich source of potassium and vitamin C which are useful in cleansing your body and building immunity with help of antioxidants present in it.

Cranberries
Cranberry is a versatile fruit that can be consumed in various forms apart from consuming raw like jams, juices sauces or in dried form too. It is rich in antioxidants and help keep your body cool, as people tend to consume less water due to cold resulting in excess body heat.

Guava
This is a widely available fruit in India and humble in nature because it's affordable. Studies have shown Guava to be one of the most nutritious fruit surpassing even apples in terms of health benefits. Hence it is advised not to be fooled by its humble cost.

Strawberry
This is one romantic fruit that is associated with winter and highly popular during this season. It tastes sweet and sour in a way that is poetic and sought after by one and all. It can be eaten in its original form as well as in juices, shakes and jams.

Kiwi
This is one of those fruits that gets tad bit affordable during the winter. It tastes delicious and is popularly consumed in various forms such as ice creams, juices, salads etc. It is rich in fiber, nutrients and vitamin c. It is more fun to eat in its raw from depending on its sweetness and slight sourness that provide a perfect combination to the taste.
