10 Ayurvedic Tips For Healthy Skin
Stop treating your skin with harmful chemicals and try out these amazing ayurvedic tips to have a healthy skin.
Ayurveda makes use of the most natural, minimally harmful ingredients to boost the healthy state of your skin. There are major brands out there boasting about how their creams are age defying. But, trust us, there is nothing better than the ayurvedic science.
According to Ayurveda, each person is different and thus requires different treatments to treat different skin types. There are three doshas - Kapha, Vata, and Pitta. And it is said that an imbalance in these 3 can cause different issues in the body. This can also be the cause of different skin issues that a person is usually plagued with.

One of the most famous ayurvedic preparations is an ubtan. It has been used since ages and still is, especially during festivals, for instance, Diwali. With the polluted environment that we live in and the side effects of our stressed life, topical applications aren't enough. A deeper care and conditioning is required to keep the skin in a healthy state.
So, stop treating your skin to harmful chemicals and switch over to the science of Ayurveda for a healthier and happier life.
Here are 10 Ayurvedic tips to have a healthy skin, do check them out.

1. Find Out Your Skin Type
Whichever dosha is dominant in you, could influence the type of skin you'll be having. Consult an Ayurvedic doctor and then begin with your skin care routine accordingly. Remember, this also includes healthy eating practices that are suitable as per your dosha.

2. Hydration Is Important
There are two types of hydration - water based and oil based. Drink enough water, around 2 to 3 liters a day for a deep hydration. Ayurveda has many healing oils. Find out which is suitable one for your skin and massage your face, hands and legs with this oil at least thrice in a week.

3. You Need Your Beauty Sleep
Sleep is very important. Getting adequate sleep has a direct effect on your skin. Your skin requires you to rest too, so that it can undergo the right kind of rejuvenate. A good sleep can be termed as a sleep of around 8 hours, not longer than that, or shorter. See to it that you go to bed by 10 PM and wake up by 6 AM. Waking up just before sunrise increases your metabolism and provides you with a good amount of energy for the day.

4. Practice Ayu-Yoga
Ayu-yoga is a combination of Ayurveda and yoga. According to which dosha you belong to, perform those breathing exercises for 5 minutes, twice a day.

5. Eat Like A Bird
Nuts and oilseeds contain Vitamin E, which is important in keeping your skin healthy. Your choice of nuts and oilseeds should be flax seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, and walnuts. They are a healthy dose of omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the body.

6. A Cup Of Tea Every Day
This tea shouldn't be your regular milk tea with a lot of sugar. Brew your tea, may be add ginger and some herbs and a drizzle of honey and sip on the goodness. Limit yourself to only one cup a day, as it is to be drunk as a medicinal drink. This tea has a lot of antioxidants that help reduce stress.

7. Make Your Own Face Pack In The Kitchen
Go to the kitchen and pick up your choice of three ingredients. Keep in mind that one should be a scrub, one should be a moisturiser and one should have toning properties.

8. Eat A Lot Of Veggies
Vegetables are a rich source of vitamins and minerals and fibre. All these three nutrients are essential in maintaining your skin in its prime.

9. Massage Frequently
Once in two weeks, it is an ideal time to get a good ayurvedic massage. Coconut oil is the most ideal massaging oil, as it helps in reducing your muscle tension and relaxes the nerve endings.
