All You Need To Know About Facial Serum In Beauty Care
Check out to know all about the facial serums and how they can be used to treat the skin right.
Serums have taken over the beauty market and are quite the beauty essential right now. In fact, they're also the reason why layering isn't confined to just makeup anymore!
From the early days of moisturizing and anti-ageing serums, we've come a long way, and today the market is chock-full of any number of beauty serums, all giving the interested consumer a bang for her buck.

Serums essentially deliver a potent dose of goodness to your skin, promising radiance and a healthy glow, just in one or two pumps. A serum isn't meant to substitute your moisturizer, instead it's meant to enhance its efficacy.
While a serum by itself is power-packed with potent ingredients that are great for your skin, layering your serum under your moisturizer or sunscreen or even your night cream can really work wonders, say serum experts and regular serum users.
Serums are essentially water-based, so they penetrate into your skin quickly, and deliver active ingredients like antioxidants and vitamins straight to the conflict zone.
However, some serums are oil-based too. In fact, a lot of the recent serums in the market are actually light oils, and they're very popular. They serve the same purpose of delivering active ingredients to the skin, where heavier moisturizers have otherwise failed.
When layering a serum and moisturizer, consider the density of the product. The lighter product goes on first and the heavier one next. If you're layering multiple products, first apply the lightest and finally apply the heaviest.

Whether you apply your serum in the daytime or in the evening is completely up to you, although if you apply retinoids around bedtime, it's a good idea to skip the serum and wear it in the morning instead.
Not everybody needs to wear a serum, and it's not necessarily for everybody. Buy the serum that suits your skin type and only buy it if you feel it might enhance your skin care regimen in some way. If your skin is fine with your current regimen, then there really is no need to spoil a good thing.
The range of serums available in the market can be mind boggling. There are about six types:
- Anti-ageing Serums: These contain retinol, and are designed to ease fine lines and wrinkles as well as solve signs of ageing over time.
- Exfoliating Serums: These contain glycolic and salicylic acid, and are designed to dissolve dead skin overnight.
- Brightening Serums: These contain kojic acid and are designed to reduce spots, and add a glow to the skin.
- Hydrating Serums: These contain glycerin and hyaluronic acid that help add moisture to the skin.
- Antioxidant Serums: These are designed to deliver a powerful dose of antioxidants to the skin with just a single application, and thereby tackle free radical damage.
- Multi-tasking Serums: These do a bit of everything. So, the ideal multitasking serum might help you with your fine lines, while moisturizing your skin and brightening it as well. They don't confuse you too much, and are great value for money.
Millions of women around the world swear by the difference a good serum has made to their skin. So, what are you waiting for? Try one of it and decide for yourself!
