Remedies For Dry Skin After Shaving

Do you suffer from dry, flaky and itchy skin after shaving? You use a good quality razor and an expensive cream, but it is of no avail. Be it with men or women, it is a very common problem for everyone. For women, especially during summers, it becomes a big problem. Continuous shaving of legs, hands, pelvic area, bikini line makes the skin very dry, itchy and sensitive.

The best way to avoid this problem is to prepare your skin for shaving. We have to moisturise our skin very well before and after shaving. It soothes our skin and makes shaving easier as well.

Remedies For Dry Skin After Shaving

Let's have a look at the remedies that we can use to get rid of dry skin after a shave:

Moisturizing oils
Take a cloth and dip it in hot water and pat on your skin several times. Make sure the water is not very hot. Apply jojoba oil or avocado oil on your face, legs, arms or any part of your body after shaving. These are very effective moisturizing oils.

Strawberry pack
Mash some strawberries, mix it with sour cream and make a fine paste. Apply it on your skin after shaving. Leave it for minimum 15 minutes and rinse it off with normal water. It is one of the best remedies to treat dry skin after shaving.

Cornstarch-honey pack
Mix cornstarch, honey and whole milk and make a paste. Smear this paste on your skin after shaving and leave it for 10 minutes. Make sure you apply it 15 minutes after saving. Rinse this pack off with warm water.

Homemade aftershave lotion
To make this lotion, take dried comfrey leaves, calendula flowers, hazel extract, rose water, glycerin, lavender and sandalwood essential oil. You have to dry the leaves, flowers and hazel extract for two weeks and then mix it with the remaining ingredients. Once prepared, you can use it for six months to treat dry skin after shaving.

Aloe vera gel
It is a very great remedy for dry skin. The gel moisturises the skin and heals it very well. You can either buy it from market or if you have it in your kitchen garden, you can extract the gel easily.

Colloidal oatmeal baths
It is very good for dry skin and also used for skin diseases like eczema. You simply have to buy oatmeal from the market or can make it at home. Take finely grounded oatmeal. Fill the bathtub with and add this powder to it. Soak yourself in the tub for 15 minutes and rinse it off.

Honey and vinegar

Smear a layer of honey on your skin after shaving. Wash it with warm water after five minutes and then splash apple cider vinegar on the area. It soothes the skin and helps you get rid of flaky skin.
