Why Is Hot Oil Good For The Hair?
How many of you have the habit of applying hot oil on our scalp and to our hair every week? If you follow this simple hair care trick, we are sure you can have a nice thick mane. According to experts, the best food you can give to your hair is oil.
Now, there is a variety of oils that you can apply on to your hair, but it is safe to use only coconut oil, olive and almond oil, as these three healthy oils have properties that can help improve hair growth and get rid of those other nasty hair problems like dandruff and an itchy scalp.
To apply the hot oil to the hair, you need to make sure that the hair is clean and free from dirt and grime, as hot oils when massaged on to the hair can interfere with the existing grime, and thus cause a scalp infection. Therefore, it is advisable to apply the hot oil only if your scalp is clean.

Now, the question arises, why is hot oil good for the hair? Beauty experts explain the necessity below. Take a look at the simple reason why you should apply hot oil to your hair every week.
Procedure: In a small bowl, add 4 tablespoons of oil (olive, almond or coconut oil). Now, heat the oil on a medium flame and allow it to boil a little. Add 1 tablespoon of water to the oil and switch the flame off. Mix the water with the oil and allow it to settle down. Comb your hair through and remove all the knots from your tresses.

When done, dip the tip of your fingertips in the warm oil and gently massage the scalp. When the entire scalp is covered with oil, begin applying the oil to the rest of the strands. After the entire hair is covered with the healthy oil, wrap a hot towel around your head. Let the towel remain on your head for 15 to 20 minutes. Unwrap the towel and rinse your hair with a home-made shampoo and conditioner.

Why is hot oil good for the hair? Beauty experts state that when you apply hot oil to the hair along with a few drops of essential oil like lavendar, they both work together to reduce the level of stress in the body.
Hot oil head massage is also good for the hair, as it promotes a rapid hair growth. Regular use of hot oils for the hair will also help to reduce hair problems like dandruff and an itchy scalp. However, one of the most important things that you should keep in mind is to not sleep with the oil in the head, as a prolonged duration of oil soaking in the hair will only lead to the growth of scalp infections and, in some cases, lice.

Which oil to use for your hair type? If your hair is normal, it is necessary to use a calm and soothing hair oil for the scalp. Lavender, Rosemary, Lemon or Thyme essential oil can be used for this purpose. For oily scalp and hair, you can use Lavender, Rosemary, or Lemon essential oil; and for dry hair, the best hot oil to tame your tresses would be Sandalwood, Lavender, or Rosemary oil.
