Salabhasana
The term 'Salabha' means a locust. The pose is like that of a locust resting on the ground and hence the name Salabhasana or the locust pose.
1.Lie full length on the stomach on the floor with face facing downwards.
2.Stretch the arms backwards.
3.Breathe out and the lift the head, chest and legs from the floor simultaneously as high as possible.
4.The hands and ribs should not rest on the floor.
5.The abdominal portion of the body only should rest on the floor on which the body weight is borne.
6.Have the buttocks contracted and the thigh muscles stretched.
7.Have both the legs straight and extended to the maximum touching at the knees, thighs and the ankles.
8.Avoid
bearing
the
weight
of
the
body
on
the
hands
and
have
them
stretched
back.
