Bharadvajasana

Bharadvajasana is named after Bharadvaja, the father of Drona. Drona was the Guru of the Pandavas and Kauravas in archery. This asana is dedicated to him.

1.Sit on the floor with the legs outstretched in the front.

2.Flex the knees and move the legs back to bring both the feet to the right side of the body beside the hip.

3.With the buttocks resting on the floor, turn the trunk to about 45 degrees to the left .

4.Have the right hand straight and place it near the outer side of the left thigh close to the left knee inserting it under the left thigh with the palm on the floor.

5.Exhale and turn the left arm from the shoulder and bring it behind the back bending the elbow and clasp the right upper arm above the right elbow.

6.Turn the neck to the right and have your gaze fixed to the right shoulder.

7.Stay in the position for about half a minute with deep breathing.
