Mandukasana Or Frog Pose

The word 'Manduk' would mean a 'frog'. Since this posture resembles a frog, it is called 'Mandukasana' or the 'Frog Pose'.

1.1.Sit in Virasana
2.1.Spread your knees as wide as you can.
3.Have the inner edges of the feet encircling the buttocks with the big toes of both the feet touching each other.
4.Place the palms on the respective knees.
5.Straighten the spine and look straight.
6.Remain in this position for about 10 seconds.

Benefits

Mandukasana helps in reducing the excess fat in the thighs, hip and the abdominal regions. It tones the muscles of the thighs and facilitates the flexibility of the legs. It facilitates digestion and improves the functions of the excretory organs. It helps to cure diabetes, constipation and digestive disorders.

People ailing with severe cardiac problems, peptic or duodenal ulcer and those who underwent stomach surgery should avoid doing this asana.
