Pandavas of Mahabharata were the lucky husbands of this cherished woman who changed the entire course of history and wrecked destruction just because she was slighted.

Draupadi was a rare gem who was committed to all five of the Pandavas equally and accepted to marry all of them, just because Kunti told her so.

She had of fiercely independent spirit but at the same time, docile and gentle with elders in the family. Her self-esteem towered over all else and she lived for upholding her dignity and pride.

She was a kshatriyaani or a kshatriya woman bred to the bones with kshatra or valour. She won all her challenges that life threw at her, the final one being the Mahabharata war that happened at the end.

Probably that was her only undoing. She was the ideal woman for the times of Mahabharata and was charm incarnate. She was married to pancha pandavas and hence was called Panchali.

But a more appropriately speaking, she was the daughter of the king of Panchala. Hence she was called Panchali.

Draupadi was of exceptional charm and beauty whose celestial beauty had captured Pandavas' hearts. Pandava brothers had true love towards her.

They looked after every need of Draupadi and materialized all her ambitions and wiped her tears of insult effectively. Even when they had to leave for heaven, they wanted Draupadi to accompany them.

Draupadis Complexion: Draupadis original name was yagnyaseni and Krishna. Yagnaseni meant that she was a woman born out of fire.

She was krishna because she was a dusky damsel. She was a bit dark in comparison with the beauty standards at those times.

This procedure was done after she completed one year of living with one husband and before she had to go the other husband to stay for the entire next year.

Draupadi is worshipped as one of the panchakanyas. In her previous birth she was a Rishiputri who had remained unmarried for a long time.

So to get a good husband, she had penanced for a long time. When God finally appeared before her, she accidentally asked "give me a husband" for five times.

This was the reason why she was granted five husbands. She was born as Draupadi in her next birth. She was a proof that It is not the glitter that matters. It is the gold that matters.
