Why Should We Sit On A Pooja Aasan To Do Pooja?

We do pujas in a meticulous manner, with flowers, dhoop sticks, karpoors, and diyas. We blame God if our prayers are not fulfilled sometimes.

Little do we know that our pujas sometimes lose their effect if the puja is done on the bare floor and not on aasan. We should be mindful of the puja aasans that we take during the puija.

The seat we sit on should be made of cotton, silk, wool or tush. Among them, it is considered better to sit on a Kusha asana and worship the deity and chant mantras. Use a red, white, yellow or orange coloured puja aasana.

You can also sit on a wooden chowki but that chowki should not be taller than the chowki of God. Mat of Grass is also preferable. Deer or Krishajina or tiger skin can also be used.

Using aasan made of wood, leaves or bamboo can result in diseases, financial problems and depression and hence it must be avoided. Sitting on a stone slab nullifies the effect of the puja and remember, the aasana should not be too high or too low.
