When Is Dahi Handi 2023 ? Date, Time, History, Significance And Celebrations
Dahi Handi 2023: On the next day of Janmashtami, Dahi Handi is celebrated, which commemorates the mischievous deeds of Lord Krishna during his childhood. Lord Krishna is believed to be the 8th avatar of Lord Vishnu.
The term Dahi Handi comes from two terms 'Dahi' which means curd and 'handi' which means earthen pot that is used to keep and process milk products. This festival is primarily celebrated in Maharashtra (where it is known as Gopalakala) and northern parts of India during the month of August and September. Let us know more about this day.
