10 July (Monday): First Monday of Sawan

The month of Sawan has started from 4th July and its first Monday fast will be observed on 10th July. Mondays of Sawan are considered very auspicious for the worship of Lord Shiva.

11 July (Tuesday): Second Mangala Gauri Vrat

All Tuesdays of Sawan month are dedicated to Goddess Parvati. To get his blessings, married women and unmarried girls observe Mangala Gauri Vrat. With the effect of this fast, the obstacles in married life are removed.

13 July (Thursday): Kamika Ekadashi

Kamika Ekadashi fast will be observed on the first Ekadashi date of Chaturmas and Shravan month. It is falling on the 13 July, Thursday. By observing this fast, along with Lord Vishnu, the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi are also received.

14 July (Friday): Pradosh Vrat

Although every day of the month of Sawan is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Pradosh Vrat that falls in this month provides a special opportunity to get his blessings. The first Pradosh Vrat of Sawan month will be observed on 14 July 2023. Lord Shiva is worshipped on Trayodashi Tithi every month and dedicated Pradosh Vrat is observed.

15 July (Saturday): Shravan Shivratri

Monthly Shivratri will be celebrated on the Chaturdashi date of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Sawan. On this day special worship of Lord Bholenath and Mother Parvati is done. This fast will be observed on 15 July.

16 July (Sunday): Karka Sankranti

Karka Sankranti is known as the transition of the Sun from Gemini to Capricorn. This also celebrates the onset of the Hindu month Ashada. Apart from that it also signifies the commencement of Dakshinayana Punya Kalam.
