Situated in Hosadurga, this temple is a three-hour journey fromChitradurga. Devotees from all over Karnataka visit this temple as the Miracle is too real to skip it.
The temple has a main bigger structure at the entrance of the temple premises and a smaller temple at the back. It is the smaller temple that comprises of the wishing well.
This wishing well is the major centre of attraction with a huge crowd waiting eagerly for its turn to experience the miracles of Halurameshwara.
The temple authorities will hand over a coupon to you which you need to hand over to the gatekeeper of the well. The coupons come in serial order and you have to wait for your turn.
This well is connected to a tank outside. The water The well/pond inside the temple is connected to a tank outside. The water inside is off white due to the devotee offerings of coconuts and bananas etc that get mixed up in the water.
The priest breaks the coconuts and the coconut water is poured into the well. Pieces of coconut and bananas are also dropped at the same time.
This milky off white colour of water could probably be the reason why this place is called Halu Rameshwara where in Halu means milk.
Apart from the lit diyas inside, there is no source of light to keep the area illumined. The wishing well is rectangular shaped with a stone pavement that fortifies all four sides of the well.
Climbing down a few steps you can reach the water in the well and see the idol installed there. A priest would be sitting on the stone there.
Once the coupon number is called out, the devotee goes inside and hands over coconut fruits and bananas to the priest.
The priest breaks the coconut and throws it into the well. The devotee is then asked to perform the puja to the well and meditate on his wishes which he needs to convey to the lord.
An article pops up on its own within a few seconds or there would be an article will show up once the priest stirs the water.
The prasad will intuitively surface if the devotees wish is going to get fulfilled. If they are not going to be fulfilled, nothing comes up or sesame, stone, and mud appears on the surface. Actually, getting a betel nut is an indication that the wishes are going to be fulfilled in the immediate future.
There is also an idol of Valmiki Maharshi's wife installed in the temple. The prasad will intuitively surface if the devotees wish is going to get fulfilled. If they are not going to be fulfilled, nothing comes up or sesame, stone, and mud appears on the surface..
