This year, Vinayak Chaturthi in the Kartik Month will be observed on Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik Month will start on 16 November at 12.34 pm and will end on the next day i.e. 17 November at 11.03 am. Hence, Vinayaka Sankranti is on 17 November.

Vinayaka Chaturthi is also known as Varad Vinayaka Chaturthi and the term Varad means 'asking God to fulfill any desire one has'. Any devotee who observes fast on this day is blessed with wisdom and patience. It is said that Ganesha Puja on Vinayaka Chaturthi should be done during the afternoon or midday. Here is what you need to keep in mind while doing the puja.

3. The Siddhi Vinayak Mantra- "Om Namo Siddhi Vinayakaya Sarva Kaarya Kartrey Sarva Vignha Prashamnay Sarvarjaya Vashyakarnaya Sarvajan Sarvastree Purush Aakarshanaya Shreeng Om Swaha."
