Baha'i teachings says that the cause of sorrow in mankind is distinction and ignorance, that comes from lack of education. The religion staunchly believes that universal education is the universal law. Therefore, it is necessary for every father to bestow his children with the light of education. It also focus on the provision that boys and girls must follow the same curriculum in schools. The house of justice regards the need to educate and guide women as the primary responsibility.
According to Baha'i, if girls are educated they can successfully educate the future generations. Gradually, the spirit of unity and fellowship will embody the mankind. Education should be compulsory and so do professional training, art or trade so that people could earn their own livelihood. Baha'i also motivates their followers to work and spread education to all, as a service to mankind is service to God.
