The Electric Charm Of The Infinite

Spiritual Experience, Sidhabari Ashram
Sidhabari - The shy glimpses of early dawn are peeping forth. The foothills of the Himalayas are bathed in green and blue. The higher ranges are clothed in snow with rivulets of ice lazily flowing down. The Creator artist's brush has deftly mixed the blue and white. The blue firmament and the white fleeing clouds romantically embracing the cold icy peaks. Strokes of pale orange and yellow are visible in the distant sky each vying with the other to blush forth.

The gentle cool breeze wafting its fragrance serving the universe selflessly. The chirping and music, full throated of the variety of birds who in unquestioning faith sing forth for the expected dawn which shall appear though it is still dark.

My eyes close spontaneously. Nature is bursting in its new-found dawn. The Deodar (Dev dar) trees in their majestic heights blooming, in their myriad hues... Yes, those flowers will fade to become the fruit. The fruit will wither to accommodate the seed and the seed will scatter on the alluvial soil for them to spring forth into new life.

Hush... A silken thread is binding me and nature. I am with birth, growth, disease, decay, death and spring forth again to life. The mystery of this eternal creation. The silken cord is tightening and we both are in intimate tight embrace. The Sarvavyaapi is pulsating in both me and them and I understand. Oh. Ram, I know not what the scriptures hold. They call me an atheist, but this I know, you , my divine are in me and with me.....

The luminous Shiva Linga silhouetted against the backdrop of snowy heights of the Himalayas adorns Guru Maharaj's (Swami Chinmayananda) kutia, a veritable Kailash on earth, meditation canopy. Time in silence....absolutely still... The Master Artist in His flowing ochre robes and in beautitude and serenity, this Messiah, the Son of God strides like a colossus and occupies the picturesque throne.

Silence within and without, punctuated by Gurudev's deep and emphatic pointers and subtle instructions blasts forth "Asangoham Asangoham Asangoham! " Detach, detach, detach. Let loose the BMI and OET and on the wings of serene meditation fly, fly, fly to the region of the Eternal Primordial Essence become and experience....

Awesome silence...time has evaporated. "Na tatra sooryo bhaati.....Sarvamidam vibhaati, " Inexplicable peace that passeth all understanding.... Peace... Peace....Peace!

The magic spell has burst asunder ........ Tat Twam Asi.

A bell peals. Invitation to the mandir. Vanavasi Ram and his dutiful consort Ma Sita are standing in their pristine glory with their ever loving charana-dasa, Pavana-thanaya Hanumanji adoring their feet.
I gaze, and gaze and gaze with a tremulous voice and tears streaming down, I cry out "Hey Ramchandra! Your glory none can fathom; your mystery is mysterious; but your Love is My Treasure."

"Ram, shall I tell you something. I did actually sit on the floor with the help of two cushions and performed the Sahasranama pooja. My entreaty was "Hey Prabho, since you have taken my legs you will jolly well carry me on your shoulders: and that you did".

Jai Ram! Jai Ram! Jaya Jaya Sita Ram!
