Every Thing Is The Lord's Prasad

Swami Chinmayananda, Indonesia Talks
For many years, devotees of Swamiji tried to get him a visitor's visa to allow him to hold public talks in Indonesia, but he was denied the visa by the Muslim government because of his connection to Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the conservative Hindu organization. In 1987, Swamiji was allowed an informal visit to Bali, but was not allowed to speak. The devotees tried again in 1989 to obtain an official visa for him, but again did not succeed. After this unsuccessful attempt, Swamiji wrote a letter to an Indonesian devotee eager for his presence there :

"Don't worry. Accept everything as the Lord's prasad. Have patience. Whenever He wishes it, it will happen."

In 1990, the devotees tried once again, but Swamiji seemed to be still on the government's black list. Then, the eager devotee who had received Swamiji's consoling letter decided to spend a month with him, in hopes that, in her absence, her husband might be inspired to use his government contacts to bring Swamiji into the country. And, indeed, the husband succeeded in procuring the necessary documents for official public speaking, and Swamiji though very unwell physically, arrived for his first Indonesia talks in February 1993.

Gurudev was very happy to be there, his "last frontier". Swamiji laughed his joyous laugh: "How can an entire Muslim country be afraid of one Hindu Swami?"

The husband, formerly a somewhat reluctant devotee, had, through his efforts to bring Swamiji into the country, became deeply involved with Gurudev's work, and continued to work tirelessly to help organize the yajnas that followed, even after Swamiji's passing from this plane.
