Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi
When one is filled with the ultimate truth, he is encompassed by it. The truth finds expression in all forms and all happenings, it exposes itself as the existing reality. What can one tell of Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi who was the embodiment of the very truth? Even daily happenings that we brush aside as insignificant, projected the truth to Him that He resorted to teach His disciples through them. Bhagavan's usual mode of teaching as experienced by His chosen ones even today is through silence. How ever it was customary of Him to even teach through the daily occurrences of life when the necessity of verbalization arose.

Once a few baby squirrels came under the care of Bhagavan as their mother became a prey of a cat. Their nest was above Bhagavan couch in Ramanasramam, Thiruvannamalai. The young squirrels always resorted to coming out of their nest not realizing the danger that lay outside. Bhagavan once remarked to Rangaswami, a disciple, that the squirrels did not understand the fact that all the trouble lay in exposing themselves outside the nest. He remarked that they did not understand the security offered by simply nestling in the nest!.

Bhagavan then pointed put that the same truth is applicable to people as well. If one's mind could abide in the self without getting externalised, one is always in the realm of peace and happiness. The trap of of sorrow awaits only when the mind that is externalised. When one's mind is right home in the source what troubles of the world outside could trample its tranquility?

A wonderful example that explained the truth eloquently.
