The Proximity Of The Master

Once a devotee as customary of other devotees to this day, was filled with remorse to leave the ashram not return for a longtime. The pangs of separation from the master poured forth in words imploring Bhagavan to accept him in the same way the blessed devotees who enjoyed the bliss of His physical proximity. Bhagavan Ramana as naturally as He he always would, stated that one cannot befit the state of a Jnani if He extends protection to one particular person. He further more clarified that if only people who stayed in the ashram were bestowed with special protection by Him, He would not be a Jnani in the true sense.
Bhagavan as He normally would, urged the devotee to surrender. He assured that the Lord is bound to protect a person who has surrendered to Him. He comes into the ambit of the Lord's protection naturally and need not even take to praying as the Lord remains close extending his protection. To illustrate the view, Bhagavan said that though the frog stays close to the lotus, it is the bees from afar who suck the honey.
The proximity of the master thus is in the following of His teachings.
