Happiness without a reason!

Two friends met after a long time. They decided to go out to have a meal together.

One of them was an actor and the other was a psychiatrist.

They were discussing all that had happened in their lives after they had left college.

The actor was a very happy man. He said, "I have never been worried about anything. By God's grace I am happily settled in my life."

The psychiatrist was listening and he asked, "And how long since you have been like this?"

Happiness is seen like any other emotion and so we try to frame it within space and time! We find it difficult to understand when someone says that they are simply happy! It is too much for us to believe!

Tremendous happiness and joy is our true nature. This is the state Enlightened Masters are in all the time. This is their core. This is also the core of Existence, of nature that surrounds us. Only man somehow needs a reason to be happy. If we are successful in our business today, we are happy. If someone said something nice about us, we are happy. If we visit new places, we are happy. This is how we know to feel happy.

I tell you: The moment you need reasons to be happy, it means that you have not tasted real happiness; you have not tasted real joy.

We choose to suffer because our ego feels solid when we suffer. When we are happy, our ego feels threatened. When we are happy without a reason, when there is no suffering, the ego comes under threat. So we go back to our suffering. Then our ego feels worthy of itself. We feel there is a solid reason to live when we feel suffering.

Of course, each one of us has our own set of problems. But if you deal with them in a happy way, with a grateful and prayerful mood, you will see that they are not so bad after all; they will simply dissolve in front of your own eyes. As long as you give them the power to make you feel dull and depressed, you will continue to be dull and depressed. Based on how you empower them, the whole thing takes shape.

Real happiness is a result of overflowing gratitude in you towards nothing in particular, but towards the Whole, towards Existence as such. This is real happiness; this is what we call bliss! This kind of happiness is a choiceless happiness, only then it can happen this way. The moment you are allowed to choose, you will choose between happiness and sorrow alternately. Choicelesness is Bliss. To choose is to suffer.

And real happiness can never be taken away from you because it comes without a reason. If there is a reason behind it, something can be done to take it away from you. Because it has no reason, it can never be taken away from you! When you have found this kind of happiness, you have found the way to permanent happiness!

Be Blissful!
