Soundarya Lahari Shloka 12: Worship Rituals And Advantages
Saundarya Lahari" which when translated, means "the Wave of Beauty" provides a bodily description of the form of Devi's sthularupa. It constitutes of two parts, the Anandalahari and Soundarya lahari. Ananda lahari translates to "the Wave of Bliss" and consists of forty-one stanzas with which the book begins, Soundarya lahari is "Ananda Lahari" and the other verses put together.".

Lord Ganesha himself etched the Ananda Lahari on Mount Meru and Sage Goudapada read the verses on the Meru and passed it on to Adi Shankara. Adi Shankara added the rest of the 59 stanzas by himself and completed the work. Soundarya Lahari is a tantric work wherein Devi can be appeased with tantric puja details given here. She can otherwise be placated through regular puja.

Meaning
Oh daughter of the Himalaya! Even the best poet such as Brahma is yet to find a comparison to your beauty. The celestial beauties, unable to contain their curiosity about your looks, enter Lord Shivas mind through meditation and surrender. You are an experience which is impossible to be felt even by strict austerities.
Mode of Worship
1. If you haven't been initiated into this sadhana, chant this regularly for 108 times. If you are initiated already, follow the advice of your guru. As per the scriptures, the rules and restrictions for the Sadhana are given as follows.
2. Get up early in the morning, complete the cleansing bath, wear fresh clothes and sit in your puja mandir.
3. Be seated facing the northeast direction before you begin the day's sadhana.
4. Yantra is to be made on water. You could otherwise use a silver vessel with honey in it for the same purpose. With any liquid, Yantra can be made by squeezing the same from a cloth soaked with that liquid.
5. Keep Sri yantra or mother's photo and 12th sloka yantra in front of you.
6. Invoke mother with her dhyana mantra.
7. Chant Saraswathi Ashtotharam while offering white flowers and chant Lalitha Ashtotharam while offering jasmine flowers.
8. Make a sankalpa of 45 days sadhana
9. Chant this sloka 1000 times a day for 45 days.
10. Offer Prasada of Offer as Prasad, cooked rice, pomegranates and honey to Goddess.
11. End your sadhana with dhyana mantra to Goddess.

1. It cures speech disabilities, bestows eloquent speech, and gift of the gab and poetry.
2. Enhances IQ and analytical abilities.
3. It bestows success in poetic and scholarly pursuits.
4. Ability to focus and concentrate improves significantly.
5. If the devotee chants this verse 1000 times daily for 45 days, with honey prasadam offered to the Goddess, he would get blessed by Lord Shiva and the dumbest of people will be able to speak with clarity.
