Solar Eclipse 2023: A Hybrid Solar Eclipse Arriving With A Ring Of Fire
Surprisingly the very first solar eclipse of the current year 2023 will not be seen in India although it occurs on 20 April. The solar eclipse that is going to form on the skies tomorrow is going to be what is termed as a hybrid eclipse as it takes something common from both annular eclipse and total solar eclipse.

It is a combination of these two types of eclipses, in fact. One more solar eclipse on 14 October is awaited for this year. There is something we need to know about this event on 20 April, even when we are in India. What is hybrid eclipse? Let us know about it in detail.

Difference Between Total And Annular Solar Eclipse
Both occur when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, but the difference is in their appearance and the way they occur. The eclipse will firstly show up to be an annular eclipse and then become a total eclipse before transitioning into annular eclipse again. But this is only in certain parts of the world and India isn't one of them.
Total Eclipse
When the moon blocks the sun totally, it casts a shadow on the Earth's surface. Sun's outer atmosphere, for a brief while, looks like a blazing ring of fire around the moon which can only be seen from a narrow path on the surface of the Earth.
Annular Eclipse
Annular eclipse is when moon is at a greater distance from the earth and hence looks smaller in the sky. This is the reason why when it passes in front of the sun, it does not totally block it, but forms a ring of light around its edges. The bright ring surrounding the dark centre is a sight to behold. You can get to see an annular eclipse from a broader area on the Earth's surface.
What Is A Hybrid Solar Eclipse
A hybrid solar eclipse is a rare form of eclipse that combines the features of both types of eclipses. In those where you are able to view the sun, it forms a ring like fiery structure for a few brief seconds. It is called the ring of fire effect A hybrid eclipse occurs when the moon will completely block the sun, according to NASA.. In fact, solar eclipse is when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, and a shadow is formed on the surface of the Earth.
