According to Udayatithi, the festival of Sheetala Ashtami will be celebrated on 02 April. Those who celebrate Sheetala Saptami will perform Sheetala Saptami puja on 1st April.

Sheetala Ashtami 2024 Puja Vidhi And Worship Method

1. On the day of Sheetala Ashtami, wake up early in the morning and meditate on Goddess Sheetala.
2. On this day, the fasting person should finish his morning activities and take a bath with clean and cool water.
3. After bathing, take a resolution with the following mantra - 'Mam Gehe Shitalarogjanitopadrav Prashaman Purvkayurarogyaishwaryaabhividhiye Shitalashtami Vrat Karishye.
4. After resolution, worship Goddess Sheetala with rituals and red flowers, etc. No lamp etc. is to be lit in this puja.
5. On this day, worship Mother Goddess with sweet rice, turmeric, gram dal, and water in a pot.
6. Mantra of worship- Chant 'Hum Shreem Shitalayai Namah' continuously.
7. Offer water to Mother Shtala and pour a few drops of it on yourself.
8. After this, offer cold food to Mother Shitala.
9. After this, recite Sheetala Stotra and listen to the story of Sheetala Mata.

14. On the day of Shitala Saptami, eat curry-rice, gram dal, halwa, puri without salt, sweet rice, sweet rice (oliya), khaja, churma, shakar pare, puri, dal-rice, lapsi, pua, pakoda, rabri. Dishes like millet khichdi, millet roti and vegetables etc. are prepared.
