Sawan, also known as Shravan, and is the fifth month of the Hindu lunar calendar. For Hindus, it holds great significance as it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is during this time, Shiva devotees engage themselves in numerous rituals to please Lord Shiva to get the choicest of blessings. Fifth Somwar or Monday of Sawan has arrived, let us know what is special about this day.

- You need to take a bath in the morning and pray to Lord Shiva.
- You can visit a Shiva temple and perform Jalabhishek or Rudrabhishek.
- You can offer sandalwood flowers, light incense stick, oil lamp, belpatra, dhatura, shami leaves etc. to Lord Shiva
- You can recite Shiva Chalisa.
- You can then perform the aarti of Lord Shiva or Mahadev.
