Rudraksha: When And Where Should It Be Worn?
Rudraksha is the necklace of Lord Shiva, and if one is to wear this , he needs to follow strict rules as Rudraksha is the most sacred beed as per scriptures.
It infuses a sense of calm and peace in the wearer. It should be removed while sleeping in order to convey your respect for this sacred bead.

Owner of a Rudraksha mala has to safekeep it for his own use and not lend it to others, even after his death. Rudraksha is actually the tears of Lord Shiva that turned into beads.
As per a legend it was a happy drop of tear that trickled from Lord Shiva's eyes as a response to Tripurasuras destruction by Shiva. Some say that his tear of happiness trickled down his cheeks after he finished a long bout of meditation.
This tear is a expression of Lord Shiva's depth of happiness which is so powerful that the Rudraksha is given importance equal to Lord Shiva himself.
Rudraksha is basically used as rosary which mostly a few eligible people use. It could be actually used by anyone but for powerful results, one needs to follow certain restrictions
In fact, wrong usage of Rudraksha will lead to problems more than benefits as it results in wrath of Lord Shiva. Most importantly Rudraksha strictly should not be carried to these three places of your visit.
Rudraksha is a very holy bead and it must be used in holy places like temples and puja mandirs at home. It becomes impure by following impure practices.
Funerals are specially occasions of grieving negativity and bear their own impurities. We can say that funeral is not a holy place. It catches impurity of the pyre if it is worn in cemeteries.
Funerals leave a negative impact on your mind and hence affects the purity of the Rudraksh also. Remove the Rudraksha before going to sleep. If you cant let go of it, you can place it under the pillow you rest your head on. Rudrakshi under the pillow will avert nightmares. While sleeping it should not be worn.
Rudraksha is equal in purity to a Gods idol in a temple. You don't feel like drinking Liquor or having a non veg meal in a temple. It is also not advised to do so.
Similarly, when you are consuming these tamasic food stuff, you should remove the rudraksha and not let it be a part of your lunch ritual. You must wear it back only after you take bath, You must make conscious efforts not to make it impure.
Once you choose a Rudraksha mala, it should not be replaced by any other Rudraksha Mala. Also you should not let anyone use your Rudraksha for purposes of Japa.
Rudraksha strung in black, yellow or white threads are considered very sacred. You can also get it fitted in Gold, sIlver, copper, which increases the auspiciousness.
Worshipping Rudraksha in your puja mandir, can bring content and peace to the family..If you intend to use the mala for puja you must not wear it on your person. If you already wearing a Rudraksha, you must use it for puja.
A certain ritual regarding Rudraksha can be followed. On Amavasya, Full Moon, Shravan Monday, Shivaratri, Pradosh, you should wash it with milk after which you must apply mustard oil on it.
This ritual brings out the power of Rudraksha and removes any trace of disease in your body with that energy produced.
