You might have heard of a variety of forms of Hanuman. The Panchamukhi Hanuman, veerapratapa Hanuman, Prasanna Hanuman, and so on, are known for their colossal powers.

Each form of Hanuman is worshipped for a particular specific wish. Prasanna Hanuman is very mild and pleasant where as Veera pratapa is the ugra roopa of Hanuman.

Each has a historical and mythological background behind its varied forms and shape. However, there is a particular Anjaneya temple, called Shri Ranjeet Hanuman Dham is located at Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

It is around 100 km away from Ujjain. This temple is very popular amongst devotees and lakhs of them gather here on Tuesdays and Fridays. It is located in Ranjit Hanuman Road, the road that bears the same name as the Lord.

All this hanuman requires is Cholas and laddus to bestow back boons. Ranjit Hanuman is extremely fond of Cholas, Ladoos and Tulsi. If you offer these to him, in return he grants victory to you in all your ventures. Whoever submits ladoos with Tulsi leaves to Hanuman will get his wishes fulfilled from Hanuman.

This temple is frequently visited by film personalities, politicians and royal families who believe in the wish fulfilling powers of Hanuman. Tuesdays and Saturdays especially have lakhs of devotees in serpentine queue to have a darshan of Hanuman.

Tuesdays and Saturdays also are known for sankeertans that go on for 3-4 hours. Temple timings are between 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday to Sunday, all seven days a week.

The Ranjit Hanuman here, grants victory in the form of prasad. Established more than 125 years ago, this temple is where Hanuman wields a shield and sword with Ahiravana stamped under his feet. He is known to fulfil devotees' wishes instantly.

Travelling yugas back in time, when Rama Ravana warfare was going on, it was the same Ahiravana, the brother of Ravana, who had abducted Rama and Lakshmana who were fast asleep during the night, and carried them to pataal to kill them.

Hanuman chased Ahiravana, killed him with his sword and shield, untied Rama and Lakshmana and saved them. Since he won this battle with Ahiravana hands down, he, in this form, is known to be the personification of victory, and he is worshipped in this state.

Another Miraculous Story: Yet another miraculous story goes thus. Once there was a king who had been defeated in several battles and had lost his empire. He prayed to Hanuman to help him gain back his kingdom.

Immediately he saw the jagruta daiva, the Hanuman in front of him who gave him a chapati and asked him to go the Hanuman temple nearby, throwing each piece of chapati alongside till he reached and he should not look backwards.

If he does, then Hanuman will stop helping him. King did as he was told and finally reached Hanuman temple and looked backwards, to see a large army following him. Using the army, the king won back his kingdom.

So this form of Hanuman is heroic and merciful at the same time. This is exactly the way he is worshipped in this temple at Ujjaini as Ranjit Hanuman, which means "the hanuman who wins the warfare"

Another miraculous aspect of this temple is that you need to just meditate on him for half an hour during which time you get solutions to your problems. There are scores of devotees whose day does not start without a darshan of this Hanuman.
