Paush Amavasya 2025: Do These Most Powerful Rituals For Closure On The Final Amavasya Of The Year
Raksha Bandhan 2023: Here's Why You Should Tie A Rakhi To Lord Hanuman
Raksha Bandhan 2023: Rakhi or Rakshabandhan is the festival of strengthening and increasing the sweetness of a sacred and pure relationship between brothers and sisters. A brother takes a vow to protect and help his sister, while a sister promises to perform the ritual of giving love and affection to her brother.
This holy festival is celebrated in the month of Shravan, hence it is also called Shravani festival. This is a festival celebrated on the full moon day of the month of Shravan and is gradually being celebrated in South India as well as abroad and its popularity is increasing.

But do you know when and why this tradition of tying Rakshasutra on a brother's wrist started or why is it essential that you tie a rakhi to Lord Hanuman or Bajrangbali on this day? Let us find out.
Raksha
Bandhan
2023:
Legend
The
reason
behind
Raksha
Bandhan
is
related
to
Lord
Krishna
in
Dwapar
Yuga.
According
to
a
legend,
when
Shri
Krishna
killed
Shishupala
with
his
Sudarna,
Krishna's
finger
was
injured
due
to
Sudarshan
Chakra.
As
a
result,
blood
started
oozing
from
it.
Seeing
this,
Draupadi
immediately
got
up
from
her
seat
and
tore
a
portion
of
her
saree
and
wrapped
Krishna's
finger
with
that
cloth,
which
stopped
the
bleeding.
Lord Krishna became very emotional due to his affection for Draupadi and he said, he will protect Draupadi and so he did by providing an endless amount of cloth and saving her from humiliation and getting disrobed. Since then the tradition of tying Rakshasutra on brother's wrist started.
Raksha Bandhan 2023: Why Should You Rakhi to Lord Hanuman?
Lord Hanuman also called Sankatmochak, means remover of obstacles. When any crisis came on Lord Ram, Hanuman uses his power and discretion to remove that obstacle. With the blessings of Lord Ram, Hanuman's influence is said to be present even in Kali Yuga.
The reason behind tying rakhi to Hanuman after tying rakhi to brother is that Bajrangbali will give wisdom to brother, keep his anger calm and bless him to take decisions with discretion. This is the reason why on the day of Rakshabandhan, after tying rakhi to brother, must tie rakhi to Hanuman.
