As per the reports, there are reports of developing this small village Gunji as a big Shiv Dham in the next two years. It is expected to become the biggest and most important stop after Dharchula for the devotees coming to visit Mount Kailash View Point, Om Parvat, and Adi Kailash.

Gunji village is situated on the safe land of Vyas Valley, where there is neither danger of landslide nor flood. At present only 20 to 25 families live here. With an increase in tourism, these families come across more employment opportunities. From the right side of Gunji goes the path to Nabhidhang, Om Parvat and Kailash View Point, while from the left side goes the path to Adi Kailash and Jolly Kong. This is about to become a perfect spot for pilgrims and tourists.
