Bhagwan Parshuram was the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He was known to be an Avesha Avatar (the avatar that incarnated out of the fury of Lord Vishnu) that was born to end the reign of the cruel kshatriyas who were misruling the lands.

While the rest of all the ten avatars, barring Rama and Krishna, were not complete incarnations, Parashurama was one incarnation that was also incomplete but aveshavatar of Lord Vishnu. This is an ancient traditional view of the incarnations of Vishnu. Enlisted here are the values and qualities of Parshuram which made him a God with a mission to be fulfilled on earth.
- He is one of the seven immortal ones as he was beyond time and space.
- He was born at the beginning at the Tretayuga,, in the lineage of Bhrigu, as the son of Renuka and Jamadagni, and most importantly as the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu..
- His celibacy gave him great power due to which he was able to conquer the world and also hand over the conquered earth to Sage Kashyap in order to live the life of an ascetic on the Mahendra Mountain.
- Sahastrarjun was a powerful king who had gone beyond the rules of Dharma and had tried to steal the kamadhenu cow from Jamadagnis Ashram. He was so powerful that it required someone who was stronger than him to defeat and kill him, as per a boon that was granted to him. Parshuram, bent on teaching him a lesson, performed austerities and acquired enormous power to be able to challenge Sahastrarjun for a duel. He used his Brahmatejas to overpower the might of the king. The fight he gave in retaliation to Sahastrarjun was unparalleled. Parashuram cut off the Kings thousand arms and then beheaded him with his axe.
- Bhagwan Parshuram carried out Kshatriya massacre 21 times and killed all the kshatriyas who were carried away by ego and evil instincts.
- Since Parshurama was Bhagwan Shrimannarayan who had descended to the Earth in a human form. He had unmatched valour to fight thousands of kshatriyas singlehandedly.
- Despite winning the entire earth after the mass massacre of Kshatriyas, he did not evince any interest in the materialistic pursuits. Parshuram gifted all the land to Maharshi Kashyap as a gift.
- It just took his three footsteps to push the sea backwards and to create the parashuram kshetra. He created Chitpawan Brahmans from the burning wood and let them live there.
- Strength of knowledge in sankrit means Brahmatej and physical strength means Kshatratej. Parshuram used his power of tapas and power of his axe, to annihilate the enemies of Dharma. Bhagwan Parshuram was a warrior ascetic who made brilliant use of Brahmatej and Kshatratej, to achieve his purposes.
- Inheriting Brahmatej from his father and Kshatratej from his mother, Parshuram came to be known as a warrior incarnation. He conquered the world by his Vedas and weapons.
- When Parshuram donated the entire earth to Kashyapa Rishi, Parshuram was told that the one who donated the land had no right to be living there. Parshuram accepted this and at once thought of creating a new land and hence asked the sea to recede a little.. When he sensed that the sea did not comply to his wishes, he used an arrow and shot it at the sea as a result of which a portion of sea rose above and this land was called Aparant. He made it the land of Konkans.
