Parashuram Jayanti 2023: Rituals And Mantra To Appease Lord Parashurama

Parashurama was the creator of Mangalore and Malabar and Temples dedicated to Parashurama are found in plenty throughout India. Parashurama was an avatar of Lord Vishnu who incarnated in his form to end the evil deeds of Kshatriyas, especially that of Karthaveeryarjuna who had a thousand arms. He had deviated from the path of Kshatriya dharma and caused a lot of harm to people. So to end his tyranny, Lord Vishnu incarnated in the form of Parashu ram.

Parashuram is worshipped in the form of Lakshmi Narayan as his own form of Parashuram is not worshipped because he is still alive as an immortal. Parashuram is known to be highly vigilant by nature and bestows this quality to his worshippers. His devotees are blessed with high levels of self-confidence and luck to achieve success in any venture. The seekers wishes are all realized due to the blessings of Parashurama.

Puja Rituals

1. Firstly, complete your morning rituals after waking up in Brahmi muhurta. Wear traditional fresh clothes.

2. Worship the Lakshminarayan swaroopa of Vishnu.

3. Be on a sattvic diet which means you should be on milk and milk products.

4. Prepare bhog with fruits and offer milk products along with Kumkum, flowers, and chandan to Lord Vishnu.

5. A fast is observed on this day which starts the night before.

6. He is an avatar of Lakshmi Narayan and hence Hindus worship him as Narayan by offering Tulsi, fruits, flowers, chandan and kumkum. They also conduct dhooparati and deeparati, and karpoorarati, with incense sticks, diyas and karpoor and then lastly sweets. These are parts of shodashopachara puja that is offered to all deities.

7. Devotees during the day time, chant the sahasranamam of Vishnu and then sing songs and chant mantra all through the night.

8. People also engage in a lot of charitable activities, like donation of grains, clothing, or other daily need items to Brahmins, the impoverished and the downtrodden people in society,

9. Sometimes devotees begin fasting a day before the jayanti, that goes on for the entire day, and observe parana after sunset after taking a holy bath again in the evening. This starts at the beginning of Tritiya and ends at the end of Tritiya.

10. Any auspicious work done on this day gives fruitful results. The day is considered very auspicious.

Powerful Mantra To Recite

There is a specifc powerful mantra of Parashuram which is recited to get victorious over the enemies, and to help you purchase property and real estate. If this mantra is recited for 21 days, the devotee, just like Parashuram, will achieve victory over enemies. Morning and evening, the mantra must be chanted preferably and at least 108 times twice a day, which means two rosaries a day.

Restrictions

1. You must not discontinue the japa of this mantra during the 21 day period. For that matter, any mantra should not be discontinued in the stipulated period if complete benefit of the mantra is to be obtained.

2. Do it 108 times while being seated and facing the east direction. You could choose any rosary of your choice, it could be rakta chandana or tulsi or anything.

3. Use only one wick to pour the oil in the container. Oil should be of red colour.

4. Prepare a Jaggery based sweet as Prasad to God.

5. On this occasion, a tree should be planted and taken care of by watering etc. Mango sapling is always preferable.
