Kunti Temple: The Rajmata of Pandavas who Blesses Especially Single Mothers In Her Temple
Kunti was a controversial queen, for the prime reason that she gave birth to five children when she was still a virgin. But her power was such that she remained a virgin despite giving birth to Pandavas. Let us know about the sterling qualities and powers of Kunti who was actually an avatar of the Goddess by name Siddhi.

They were born to devatas and through divine means. She was sacrificing yet assertive, brave yet fearing society, a strong-willed woman who brought up her children as a single mother, and was calm and collected at all times.
She welcomed troubles and even asked Krishna to grant more of them to her, so that she would be able to remember God for her entire life. She played her role of Rajmata to perfection.
Kunti was the daughter of Shurasena, a Yadava ruler who was the grandfather of Krishna. She was named at birth as Pritha. Known to be a reincarnation of Goddess Siddhi, she was born as a sister of Vasudeva, the father of Krishna and hence was unusually close to Lord Krishna.
Kuntibhoja later adopted her. Her husband was Pandu who also had a second wife called Madri, the princess of Madra. Her marriage was solmenised by Bhishma.
She is the kuldevata for the Tribal society there who believe that Kunti is the avatar of Parvati. Bhima married Hidimbi who was considered as an avatar of Shakti. Hence Dedia pada is considered to be very sacred. Dediya pada is a Tehsil and town in Narmada District.
unti stayed here because of the mesmerising landscape which seemed an ideal place for performing Tapas. Kunti completed her Tapasya here.
There is only one temple for Kunti in the whole of India. It is near Dedia Para and is also known as Devi Mogra temple.
Kunti's Childhood: Born to the Yadava chief Shurasena, Pritha was adopted by her childless uncle, Kunti Bhoja, and was renamed Kunti. She received supernatural powers from the devas.
She was named as Pritha but she was given away on to Kunti Bhoja as he was childless. Pritha bore his name and it was due to her fortunes that Kunti Bhoja was able to get biological children of his own. Kunti was Kuntibhojas lucky mascot.
Durvasa's Mantra Boons To Kunti:While she was still a small girl, Rishi Durvasa had visited Kunti Bhojas palace at which time the king was in puja.
Knowing about Durvasa's anger and her father's inability to attend to the Rishi, Kunti took it upon herself to attend to the Rishi and she handled it perfectly like a queen.
Durvasa was so happy that he blessed her with a mantra boon. It enabled her to call any deva who would give her a child without conception, just like a gift.
Kunti deserved the boons because of her humility and good conduct towards Durvasa. Out of curiosity, soon after Durvasa left, she chanted one of the mantras, the surya mantra and immediately lord Sun came down to whom Kunti politely requests to go away as she was just experimenting with the mantra.
But Surya could not go without fulfilling the demands of the mantra so he miraculously provided a baby. The son had a golden earrings and a kavacha , a golden vest that had grown as a part of his body.
The young Kunti, petrified about being found out by Kuntibhoja and the subjects of her kingdom, put the baby in a casket and set him afloat in a river which reached the house of a charioteer who was childless.
Kunti Chanted Durvasa Mantras: Kunti was married to Pandu who could not give her the marital life due to a curse that he had received long back.
According to the curse, he could never have a marital relationship with his wife, and if he tried, he would die. So Kunti provided the solution, by chanting the Durvasa mantras and gave Pandu the Sons he wanted.
She also taught Madri the mantra so that she too would beget sons. So Kunti received three sons whereas Madri received two. This was a very selfless act on the part of Kunti.
When finally, Pandu died, Madri followed him in even death as she knew that she did not know how to survive, and look after Kuntis sons along with her own children impartially.
Personality Of Kunti: She was a deft combination of beauty and wisdom and in her every birth she did strong Tapasya on Lord Krishna and finally attained salvation. She had acquired spiritual powers by performing harsh austerities,

Her role from the beginning to the end was that of a nourisher and care taker and there was no role for self-care in her fortunes and the scheme of things.
She was a giver, and a tale of sacrifice, a sea of compassion and a perfectly universal human being. She was siddhi Goddess herself.
There was no discrimination in the way Kunti treated her sons and Madri's sons. She was highly intelligent beautiful and shrewd, the qualities that did not come of any use to her.
Kunti was clearly unlucky here as she had to live a life for no meaningful purpose whatsoever except for her children, whom she had to bring up to be great men.
The Curse Of Being Born As A Pandava: According to an adage of Mahabharat times, it was never good to be born as Kuntis children as they did not finally get neither happiness or comforts.
Their entire life was full of struggles about which Kunti was particularly bothered and pained. She repented her decision of giving birth to children who were just and brave as it is only the good people who are forced to go through hell and they do not get what they deserve.
Benefits Of Kunti Worship: Kunti as Goddess, is worshipped in temples even today in India. Her blessings will bestow progeny to the childless.
