The Hindu month of Jyestha is associated with intense summer and usually falls in the month of May or June every year. This is the third month of the solar calendar and it is said that during this time, Sun transits in Taurus. In Tamil, this month is known as Ani. When it is a full moon in Jyeshtha month, then it is called Jyeshtha Purnima.

On this day, people observe fasting and bathe early morning in the holy water. In Hinduism, the new moon and full moon have immense significance, and therefore, worshipping on this day is considered beneficial. Taking a bath on this day is believed to fulfil one's wishes and brings happiness and prosperity to their life.

Jyeshtha Purnima is also known as Jyeshtha Poornima. Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are worshipped on this day. Apart from bathing in holy rivers, donating something or engaging in charitable works is also considered very auspicious. According to the Hindu Calendar, this year, Jyeshtha Purnima will be observed on 3 June and 4 June 2023. Jyeshtha Shukla Purnima will begin at 11:16 am on Saturday, 3 June 2023 and end at 09:11 am on Sunday, 4 June 2023.

Jyeshtha Purnima 2023: Puja Rituals, Worship Method
Fasting is observed on this day and people bathe in the holy water early morning. The moon is worshipped on the night of Jyeshtha Purnima, therefore a fast will be observed on this day. On 03 June 2023, Jyestha Moon will rise at 06.39 pm. But, the bathing and donation will be done on the next day, 04 June 2023.

On the day of Jyestha Purnima, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are worshipped with complete rituals. It is said that fasting and worshipping on this day remove sorrow and poverty. Apart from this, if the moon is weak in the horoscope, then worshipping the moon god on the full moon day and offering Argh also solves this problem. It is very auspicious to donate white clothes, sugar, rice, curd, silver items, pearls etc. on this day. By following special remedies, or doing measures on this day, desired results can be achieved on Jyeshtha Purnima. If there is an obstacle in a person's marriage, then worshipping Lord Shiva by wearing white clothes and doing Lord Shiva Abhishek on the day of Jyestha Purnima will remove the obstacle in marriage.

On this day, along with Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Shiva will also be worshipped. On the other hand, if you are struggling with the financial crisis, then apply turmeric tilak on 11 coins and offer it to Goddess Lakshmi on the day of Jyeshtha Purnima. Further, you can tie it inside a red cloth and keep it in your vault or money place. By doing this, there will be no shortage of money and grains in your house.
