How To Whisper Your Prayers In Nandi's Ears So That Lord Shiva Will Fulfil It
Nandi, the leader of Lord Shiva's Bhoota Ganas, and an ardent devotee, bears witness to all the divine exploits of Lord Shiva. He is the divine bull, and the mount of the Lord.
Nandi, as per the Shaiva shastras, has to be worshipped before you proceed with the worship of Lord Shiva, Parvati, Ganesha and Subramanya. Nandi puja is done with Akshatha and flowers.

In Shiva temples, generally the Nandi idol is installed in the direction of the shiv Linga so that Nandi gets to face Lord Shiva directly. The devotee should never stand in a direction that obstructs Nandis view of Shiva.
So devotees have to look at the Shiv Linga or Shiva through the space between the two ears of Nandi first and then go ahead and worship Shiva.
Lord Shiva graced Nandi with an instruction that Nandi should stay as his companion where ever he is. Hence in temples of Shiva. You always see Nandi idol seated facing Lord Shiva directly in the temple.
Some people even whisper their wishes in Nandi's ears so that it reaches Lord Shiva quickly. What letters should be first said in Nandi's ears?
As per the shastras, it is believed that Lord Shiva spends most of his time in penance. Whispering in Nandi's ears takes your prayer directly to Shiva and fulfils it.
Once up on a time, Nandi was instructed by Lord Shiva, who is always in penance, not to allow anyone near him when he was in meditation.
Shiva was always in penance and hence there was a possibility that he could not hear any devotees' prayers. Hence, he instructed that devotees could whisper their wish and prayers in Nandis ears.
This way the message of the devotee can be passsed on to Shiva.. Lord Shiva also blessed Nandi that wishes whispered by people in Nandis ears would be immediately fulfilled.
Just Utter Om In Nandi's Ears Before You Whisper: However, the only thing to remember before whispering your wish in Nandi's ears is that you should utter the word Om before you begin to speak in the ears. Om is where the mantras begin and Om is what sustains the universe.
When the primordial noise of the galaxy was recorded in a machine by NASA, it sounded like OM. Om is the symbol of the universe with which it began its existence. With Om utterance, positivity exudes everywhere around you.
By doing this, Shiva's penance goes undisturbed and Nandi can fulfil the devotees wishes and hence justice is served to both the Lord and the devotees. Nandi is the celestial middleman that serves the purposes of the scores of devotees who come for a darshan of Lord Shiva.
