Hindi Diwas 2023 Date: From Where Did Hindi Get Its Name? Know Interesting Facts About This Day
Hindi Diwas 2023: Hindi holds third place in the list of most spoken languages in the whole world and that can give you an idea of how popular this language is.
According to Worlddata.info, the Hindi language has its roots in the Indo-European language family. With 584.57 million native speakers, Hindi has the highest prevalence in India. A total of about 585.5 million people worldwide speak Hindi as their mother tongue.

The Hindi language is celebrated on two days: National Hindi Day and the other one is World Hindi Day. While World Hindi Day is celebrated on 10 January, National Hindi Day is celebrated on 14 September. Let us know more about Hindi Diwas or National Hindi Day.
Why Is National Hindi Day Celebrated On 14 September?
Hindi Diwas, also known as Hindi Day, is an annual observance in India celebrated on 14 September 2023. It commemorates the adoption of Hindi as one of the official languages of India by the Constituent Assembly of India on 14 September 1949. Hindi was declared as the official language of the Indian Republic on 26 January 1950, the same day that the Indian Constitution came into effect.
The reason for this is that on 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly of the country gave the status of official language to Hindi. Since then we have celebrated this day as Hindi Day.
This day is also celebrated as the birth anniversary of Beohar Rajendra Simha. Various types of programs will be organized across the country so that the popularity of Hindi will further increase. In order for Hindi to get the status of an official language, Mahatma Gandhi called Hindi the language of the masses in 1918.
