Saint Ravidas was born in 1377 AD in Varanasi (Banaras). He was born on Sunday, the auspicious day of the full moon day of Magh month. Therefore, he was named Ravidas. Every year, the birth anniversary of Saint Shiromani Ravidas Ji is celebrated on the auspicious occasion of Magh Purnima.
