They fructify at the right time in a persons life. We always reap what we sow and the book describes souls transition from this body to another one at rebirth. Garuda Purana has few pointers that help us extend our longevity by following certain rules of conduct and behavior. Let us know what they are.

1. Curd consumed at night is an invitation to several diseases in the stomach. Stomach is the main organ that has the potential to carry maximum number of diseases. Stomach disorders multiply by consumption of curds at night and hence curds should be consumed only during the day.

2. If you are used to non-vegetarian food, and are habituated to eating stale meat, it is going to create several health problems. Stale meat has bad bacteria that thrive on stale meat. Such bacteria may infect your stomach and cause untold suffering due to diseases.

3. For people who sleep in the morning, or wake up rather late in the mornings, the longevity reduces because they miss inhaling the ozone layer in the brahmi muhurta. The ozone layer is very therapeutic and cures and prevents several diseases. Respiratory diseases are easily be avoided by inhaling pure air in the mornings. Otherwise, late nighters who get up late the next morning have nothing to thank for due to their habits.

4. When the body of a dead man is consumed by fire, in the crematorium, the bacteria inside the dead body come outside and get absorbed in the atmosphere and can get inside the people who are attending the funeral. So it is not good to stand a long time infront of the pyre. It is better to return home, wash your clothes and take bath so that the bacteria do not impact you in any way and affect your health.

5. As per Garuda Purana, one should not indulge in day time physical intimacy or over indulgence because it has an adverse effect on the longevity of men and bodily weakness can also be one of the results. As a result of this indiscretion, immunity fails in the body and diseases cannot be successfully prevented. Morning time is the best time for yoga, pranayama and meditation so your pranic energy is conserved at this time.
