Dos For Ganesh Visarjan
- If you have a Ganesha idol at home, then you can use a bucket filled with water and do the visarjan at home.
- During the Visarjan, you can offer Lord Ganesha incense, flowers, fragrance, food, and oil lamps.
- You can use a red cloth and put dry items such as dry coconut, jaggery, and five different grains in it.
- You can tie this around Lord Ganpati's idol so that he can use this food during his homely abode.
- You can give a holy bath to Lord Ganpati's idol using holy Ganga water, milk, and normal water.
- While you are proceeding with the visarjan, keep in mind the shubh muhurat.
Don'ts For Ganesh Visarjan
- You must not continue the immersion or visarjan of the Ganesha idol without checking the muhurat.
- Without performing a puja, and offering a bhog, bidding farewell to Ganesha is not allowed.
- While taking the idol for immersion and until it is completed, one should not close the door of the house.
- Without the garlands and decorations, you should not immerse the idol of Ganesha.
- You should remove the ornaments before immersing Ganesha in the river and keep them in a safe place with care.
- Before the visarjan happens, you can take the coconut and move it around the idol's head three times and break it on the ground.
