Main festival of Holi is preceded by a special Holika dahan puja. Holika Dahan, or Chhoti Holi as it is called, is being celebrated a day prior to Holi Festival which is on 08 March. This muhurat is significant for performing many rituals and it is a powerful patch of time that could also be used for performing rituals meant for fulfilling specific purposes.

Astrological remedies work very effectively if they are performed on the day of Holi as the time has divine energy in it. For peace and prosperity, you can perform these rituals. Whatever rituals we perform today will turn out to be auspicious. Certain measures bring in luck to the household and they involve pouring of certain ingredients into the fire during Holika Dahan. Indian rituals are mysterious and holy and they are well timed as well, to give you beneficial results.

1. Holika ashes are very effective in strengthening the financial picture. On the second morning of Holika Dahanm visit the holika spot, in complete silence, without uttering a word, bring the ashes home and sprinkle them all over the house. This is also good in correcting the Vaastu defects.

2. According to astrology, it is considered auspicious to do parikrama to Holika Pyre 11 times for prosperity and wealth.

3. In case a family member is continuously afflicted with diseases that never seem to clear that easily, you can follow this remedy. When the Holika pyre is burning, offer one Batasha and two cloves in a betel leaf to the fire. Once it cools down, bring the ash and apply it on the patient's body.

4. Throwing a coconut in the fire of Holika, removes hindrances to the job.
5. If Rahu and Ketu are malefically influencing your horoscope, then take the Holika ash, pour it into a pot along with some water. Offer this in worship to Shivling.

7. in case a family member is suffering from visual impairment, offer two cloves, one Batasha in a betel leaf, during burning of the pyre in Holika Dahan. Bring its ashes, and fill it in a silver or copper amulet and wear it around the neck.

8. Bringing mustard seeds and salt from the shop and throwing them into the Holika fire ensures peace and prosperity.

9. To reduce the malefic effects of the nine planets in the horoscope, mix Holikas ashes in the bath water and take a holy bath. This will not only get rid of physical and mental problems but also the financial problems.

11. If your business is not looking up and suffering failures and delays, on the day of Holi, in a yellow cloth, place black turmeric, 11 Gomati chakras, 11 cowries and a silver coin and tie a knot. Go around the pyre observing total silence. Also chant 'Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" 108 times. After completing the rounds, head straight towards your home, and keep the Potli where you normally keep your valuables and money. It will establish Goddess Lakshmi in your residence. Business profits will double overnight and you will never have to face shortage of money.

12. Worship moon for money on Holi. Offer milk and white sweets or kheer as Prasad to Moon. You need to chant the Beej Mantra of Moon " oṃ śrāṃ śrīṃ śrauṃ saḥ chaṃdramase namaḥ" up to 108 times. Distribute the Prasad to children. You will never face the lack of money by doing this. Extinguished ashes of Holi should be brought home as you will be needing this for Dhulendi ritual.

13. If a person is suffering a chronic disease. He should chant the below mantra 1008 times using a Tulsi rosary on the Holi night. The patient will find relief.

"oṃ namo bhagavate rudrāya mṛtārka madhye saṃsthitāya mama śarīraṃ amṛtaṃ kuru kuru svāhā"

14. Use raw turmeric, cow dung cake, fruits and vegetables to make a garland. After doing Holika Pujan with these ingredients, burn eight diyas around Holika and offer all the above items into the bonfire.

15. On the Holi day, offer five red flowers to Lord Hanuman. A person who does this will receive the blessings of Hanuman.

16. Apply the Bindi made of white Chandan on Bel leaves, tell yourself your wish focusing on it, and offer it to Shivling to be blessed by Lord Shiva with the result.
