Things That Lord Sri Krishna Loved The Most
Check out for the things that are Lord Sri Krishna’s favourite.
Lord Sri Krishna is one of the most worshiped Gods in the Hindu pantheon of deities. It is the nature and the charm of the Lord that attracts the hearts of thousands of devotees. He is called "Bhakta Vatsal", which means that he is the favorite of the devotees and responds to them very fast.
Janmashtami is celebrated to commemorate Lord Sri Krishna's birth anniversary. In the year 2017, Janmashtami shall be celebrated on the 14th of August. For some sects of the Hindu community, Janmashtami will fall on the 15th of the same month.
Devotees of Lord Sri Krishna celebrate the birth day of their Lord with a lot of pomp and show. Many of them keep a Vrat and perform poojas at the temples and at the home. Other devotees participate in activities like the 'Jhankis', matka breaking competition, singing and dancing.
On this occasion, let's discuss about some of the things that were close to Lord Sri Krishna's heart. These things were loved by Lord Sri Krishna so much that these are offered to him by the devotees to win his grace.

The Feather Of The Peacock (Mor Pankh)
If
you
look
at
the
depiction
of
Lord
Sri
Krishna,
it
will
surely
have
a
Mor
Pankh
decorating
the
Lord's
head.
There
are
varying
stories
that
explain
why
the
Lord
chose
the
peacock
feather.
One
of
the
stories
says
that
they
were
gifted
to
Lord
Sri
Krishna
by
the
King
of
peacocks
who
had
become
enthralled
by
the
music
from
the
Lord's
flute.
Another story says that it was a gift from his adoptive father Nanda Gopal who had used the feather to decorate the baby Krishna's hair.
Whatever the story be, it is sure that Mor Pankh is one of the things that Lord Krishna loved immensely.
Butter (Makhan)
Lord Sri Krishna is famously known as ‘Makhan Chor'. It is translated as the one who steals butter. The Lord was bestowed this name due to his habit of stealing butter from his home as well as from the houses of his village.
To this day, any pooja done to please Lord Sri Krishna is considered to be incomplete without the offering of butter.
Yellow Clothes (Peetambar)
Lord Sri Krishna loved yellow clothes. Every image of him shows the Lord clad in a yellow dhoti. All the stories from the mythology say that Lord Sri Krishna wore yellow clothes and they were his favourite. Not just clothes, he loved the colour yellow in general. People offer fruits and dishes of yellow colour due to this very reason.
Flute (Bansuri)
Lord Sri Krishna is incomplete without his flute. The music that comes from the heavenly flute is said to be so melodious that it mesmerizes humans and animals alike. When Lord Sri Krishna starts playing his flute, all of the creation starts to dance and all the living beings forget themselves in the tune.
It is said that Lord Sri Krishna received the flute from a nomad who sold flutes. It was the same person who taught him to play the instrument. The flute is considered to be holy and many songs and poems are written about it. The flute is considered to be lucky, as it is able to touch the lips of the lord, as per the devotees' belief.
Cattle (Gow)
The love of Lord Sri Krishna extends to all animals alike. But if asked which animal is the Lord's favourite, the answer will be cows or cattle in general. As a young boy, Lord Sri Krishna was a Gopal or the one who takes care of the cows. He would take them into the forests to feed them and bring them back home in the evening. Many of the Lord's childhood leelas have occurred in the presence of the cattle that his family raised.
